WARNING some of these photos depicting atrocities by raptors should not be viewed by children WARNING ![]() a bird without a tail does NOT have a chance to survive another raptor attack - this tippler was hit from back, hit from front ... if the crop was stitched up at a vetrinary clinic, this tippler may live through - the cost to save this pet's life is about 200 EUR. Please, note the undigested grain in the pigeon's crop (photo by Mickey Nixon, United Kingdom) ![]() ![]() the wish of a pigoen to come home and its owner is so strong that even wounds like these will not stop it from returning. This pigeon still lives and suffers. The owner suffers when he has to kill his pet (photo by Abdul Hai, Australia) ![]() ![]() this pigeon was taken and eaten on human dwelling doorstep. The owner of the bird does NOT have any legal right to protect his pet(s) on his property. After inspecting the carcass, an expert on predators indicated that the pigeon was the pray of a falcon ! Falcon a few feet from the front door - are we trying to protect the "nature" ? (photos used with the kind permission of Andrei Dejhan, Romania, http://www.porumbei.ro ) ![]() ![]() the kit of English Tipplers was only up for 35 mins, when one of the hens got hit by the falcon, she managed to escape and land on the back lawn. She then flew back on to the loft roof and walked into the trap and collapsed. ![]() the hen might survive (photos by Danny McCarthy, Australia, March 2010)
![]() this English Tipplers was hit on its first day of settling by a sparrow hawk. Before a neighbor discovered what had happened and could intefere, two thirds of the left breast muscle were eaten out down to the ribs - while the pigoen was alive. The dark spots in the wound is soil. ![]() after the wound was sprinkled with antiseptic powder, the bird may survive but, mauled in the chest like that, it will not fly again. Just like a man without legs ...(photos by Frank Otta, Czech Republic, March 2010)
